PROFILE

I am Savile Row trained tailor and textile design graduate specialised in surface and printed design. Personally, I enjoy traditional practices coupled with digital processes to challenge conformity and trained as a tailor to have the ability to create without restriction. I am an independent, efficient and organised individual and am keen to learn new skills and get involved in new experiences.

SKILLS

-Drafting and cutting a 3-piece suit

-Fitting and making a 3-piece suit

-Capable of working to a client brief

-Experience using Photoshop and Illustrator

-Experience using a Wacom Intuos graphics pad

-Understanding of the use of machinery in a textile print room i.e fabric steamer, silk screen exposure, heat press etc

-Basic knowledge of the operation of some digital printers

VOLUNTEER/LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

OUTDOOR SECRETARY

Birmingham City University University Rock Climbing Society, 2017-2019

I organise and coordinate outdoor climbing trips, carry out gear checks and take responsibility for the kit, book travel, accommodation as well as teach new members the basics of climbing and later to climb outdoors, lead climb and rig an outdoor roped climb.

SCOUT LEADER

1st Corsham Sea Scout Group

I run activities, teach the children new skills, plan camps and trips and help with the general running of the group.

STUDENT AMBASSADOR at CASS ART

2017-18 academic year

I wrote for the blog, planned a workshop, promoted the company, advertised any events and gave feedback on the business.

EXPERIENCE

INTERN for JOSHUA KANE FASHION SHOWS

September 2018/November 2019

I was invited back to the company for the Fantasy and Ceremony events to help with the final preparations and behind the scenes at the show, including final touches on garments, running last minute errands and dressing the models at the venue.

INTERNSHIP at JOSHUA KANE BESPOKE

April - May 2018

I worked with the design team to create and develop illustrative drawings to go into the fabric designs for the upcoming collection as well as running errands and performing some basic tailoring duties.

COLLABORATION with a FASHION BUSINESS STUDENT

March - April 2018

I was recruited to work on wallpaper and interior decor designs, as well as staff portraits and the brand logo in a pop art style.

WORK PLACEMENT with DIONNE REEVES

I worked with Dionne to learn the fundamentals of bespoke tailoring, making samples of the processes and learning about the industry.

INTERN for GREY CLOUDS & SILVER LININGS

In 2017 I assisted with the setup of the company, taking charge of the social media and branding aspects and helping decorate and organise the studio/workshop space. Throughout 2018 I have helped to maintain the social media profiles and created some marketing materials, as well as learning some skills for assisting with workshops.

COMMITTEE for SH:IFT STUDENT CONFERENCE 2019

May 2018 - April 2019

I was part of a group of students and tutors brought together to organise a one day conference of industry professionals and students regarding the future of the fashion and textiles industry. I have written copy for the event and contacted potential speakers and I was a judge on the panel for the event.

FASHION & TEXTILES MONITOR at BCU

December 2017 - June 2019

I oversee the fashion and textiles workshops once the main technicians have gone home, including cleaning the workshops for use the next day, preparing materials for technicians' demos, being available to maintain machines in the fashion workshop and helping students.
